Joss Stone, blippable: Blippar partners with pop star for Poppy Appeal

In honour of the men and women who fought during the First World War, Grammy Award-winning pop star Joss Stone has recorded 2014’s official Poppy Appeal single, a soulful cover of 'No Man’s Land (Green Fields of France)', written in 1976 by Scottish-born folk singer-songwriter Eric Bogle.

And, in partnership with The Royal British Legion who run The Poppy Appeal charity campaign, Blippar has made the single’s poppy-strewn cover interactive, turning it into an immersive mobile experience unlocked by blipping it with our visual browsing app.

In addition to making Joss Stone’s CD cover interactive, we also worked with artist Scarlett Raven - a painter whose work focuses extensively on poppies and their relevance to war – to make her painting The Eleventh Hour Number 1 blippable.

Raven is donating the interactive painting to The Royal British Legion for auction, to raise funds to support the British Armed Forces past and present, and their families.
